City for who?

I’m trying to settle my thoughts on an internal conflict I’m experiencing. At first, I’m thinking about my previous year and how it has made me reconsider my relationship with what urban living in a global city (that strive to attract capital) might entail with my own politics and ethics of living. Whether I could afford to enjoy it, and at what costs (precarity in living conditions, health, emotional or ethical issues...). Is the city intended for people like me, a place where I could envision binding and be part of the urban fabric for a foreseeable future?
